Arsenal Vs Chelsea

On Saturday the 19th of January at 17:30 Arsenal take on Chelsea in a top of the table battle for Champions League qualification.

Arsenal F.C

After bouncing back from the humiliating 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool to beat Fulham 4-1 the Gunners once again slipped up. They were beaten playing away at West Ham 1-0 in their last match so will be looking to bounce back straight away once more. When the top of the table is so close, having two losses in a row is highly damaging and now they have their work cut out to finish in the top four. In their next two matches, they play at home to Cardiff and they are away to Manchester City.

Chelsea F.C

Chelsea is sitting in the final Champions League qualification place and is only 1 point behind 3rd place Tottenham Hotspur so will be hoping to leapfrog them over the weekend. They have a 6 point advantage over 5th place Arsenal and 6th place Manchester United so grabbing all 3 points is vital. If the Blues are able to beat the Gunners they will be in a prime position for finishing in the top 4 so expect to see all the players put on on the line over the weekend.

Prediction – Draw

Chelsea may have the return leg of the EFL semi-final 4 days after they play the Gunners but they will not be resting anyone for this one. It is a vital match that could go a long way in deciding which team qualifies for the Champions League. I expect this to be a brutal affair with tackles flying in as there is so much on the line. That could make both teams cancel each other out which is why I am going for a 1-1 draw.
