Burnley needs points urgently as they are one place above the drop zone and only 4 points above 18th place Cardiff City. After getting thrashed by Man U in the FA Cup 5-0 they were able to draw with them last week 2-2 in the EPL and were unlucky not to get all 3. Since the turn of the year, they have been picking up points but could do with a run of a couple of wins on the bounce to get out of trouble. They are away to Brighton, at home to Tottenham and then away again against Newcastle United in their next 3 EPL games.
Southampton F.C
Southampton is on the same points as Burnley but above them on goal difference. This match between the two could end up going a long way in who goes down to the Championship next season. They are on a run of good form at the moment and drew against Crystal Palace in their last match but beat Everton the week before. They are at home to 18th place Cardiff in their next match who are in the relegation zone in 18th so the next two matches could decide their fate. If they manage to win both they should be safe for another year but if they lose them, it could spell disaster.
Prediction – Burnley Win
This is going to be a very close match with so much at stake. The loser is going to be in serious danger of going down so I expect it to be a close encounter but with the home support, I think Burley will get the job done by winning 1-0.
