Ladbrokes is one of the most trusted names in the gambling industry. The company has been providing gambling services to European gamblers for well over 120 years. From bet shops to land-based casinos and now into the online gambling market, the company has left no stone unturned.

Ladbrokes is owned and operated by Ladbrokes Coral PLC. The company is traded publicly on the London Stock Exchange. All operations are regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and the Gibraltar Gaming Authority. Along with William Hill, Ladbrokes was one of the first brand name gambling providers to offer online sports betting and casino play. The website first appeared back in 2000 and remains one of the most popular websites in the world.

Website/Software/Mobile Apps

The Ladbrokes website will never win points for style. Aside from the bright red colors that are indicative of a Ladbrokes property, everything else about the site is bland. The good news is the home landing page shows all of its advertising through a rotating banner section at the top of the page. The landing page selection menu is a series of icons that will lead players into the appropriate gambling. The rest of the page is devoted to an overwhelming amount information. That’s the bad news. Subsequent landing pages have banner menu sections. Overall, this is not an easy site to navigate.

The sports betting platform is proprietary. The online casino section of the website is supported by Playtech’s ever-popular software platform. In fact, Playtech and Ladbrokes have maintained a powerful relationship since the beginning of online gambling. Access to Playtech’s casino platform assures players will get a chance to enjoy Playtech’s highly-popular video slots as well as hundreds of other games integrated from top software developers like IGT, Evolution Gaming and NetEnt. Mobile device users can access the site through an optimized website function or a mobile app that is available for devices that run on the iOS or Android operating systems.

Bonuses

Ladbrokes doesn’t offer much of a bonus package for new customers. The current welcome bonus offering is 20 pounds in free bets for the first 5 pounds deposited. After a player has establish an account the will get access to a number of interesting betting promotions. The list of popular betting promotions includes “Cash out” options on accumulators (parlays), price boost options, rebates on losing bets, free horse racing bets and odds guarantee offers. There is no indication of a VIP Club

Available Betting Markets/Wagering Options

The Ladbrokes sports book area is as comprehensive as any other website in the industry. Sports bettors get unfettered access to literally hundreds of sports events being played all over the world on a daily basis.

As a sponsor of the Premier Soccer League and a number of top clubs, it’s not surprising to see the depth at which Ladbrokes promotes soccer betting. Not only can a sports bettor wager on every major soccer league match in the world, but they also get access to betting markets that include a lot of England’s regional soccer leagues. Aside from soccer, other popular betting markets include professional and collegiate sports from the US, Aussie Rule Football, Rugby, Darts, Golf, Tennis, boxing and dozens of other betting markets that fall outside of the mainstream.

The list of betting options includes straight bets, accumulators (without limitations), teasers, proposition bets on major sports as well as special events like the Super Bowl, British Open golf or the World Cup (soccer), and future odd betting on popular sports leagues. Live streaming of games and in-game betting are also available.

The race book features the finest horse racing from all over the world. Horse players get access to all major and minor horse racing venues in the UK, plus additional access to major race tracks in Germany, South America, the US, Hong Kong, Canada, France, Australia and Japan. The race book will accept a great portion of the wagering options being offered by the individual racing venues.

The online casino features over 1,000 video slots from top software developers. For casino players who prefer table games, available games include Craps, multiple versions of Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat, Sic Bo, Pai Gow Poker, table poker games and Pontoon. The software platform also provides access to virtual horse and sports betting, poker, lotteries, arcade games and exchange betting. Finally, live casino enthusiasts can enjoy live dealer gaming tables, compliments of Evolution Gaming.

Banking

As a publicly traded company with a high level of accountability, players can take great comfort in knowing there will be no payment issues with Ladbrokes. The website offers over a dozen different banking options, including credit cards (VISA, MasterCard), debit cards, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, bank transfer and a wide range of regional options for local players.

While withdrawal options are bit more limited, players can still use options like bank wire and Skrill. Withdrawals are processed promptly without the requisite waiting periods used by other websites. It’s notable Ladbrokes doesn’t offer cryptocurrency as a banking option at this time. Banking limits are available through customer service.

Customer Service

It’s quite disappointing to see so many limitations on Ladbrokes’ customer service function. The fact service hours are limited to normal business hours is shocking. Players can contact customer service representatives via telephone, Live Chat, and email. The website has a comprehensive FAQ section that might be able to provide answers to basic question when customer service representatives are unavailable. When they are available, they seem capable and courteous. BTW: Ladbrokes accepts phone in bets from customers who can’t get to a bet shop or mobile device.

Conclusion

While the website is not much to look at, it has all the content an online gambler would want to see. The vast number of betting markets and betting options is one of the reasons Ladbrokes has survived for so many years. If a player is looking for reliability and variety, they would be hard-pressed to find a better option than Ladbrokes. With that said, it’s sometimes better to be a big fish in a little pond.
