Leicester Vs. Southampton On Saturday the 12th of January Leicester City are at home against Southampton in matchday 22 of the Premier League campaign.

Leicester City F.C

Leicester City may not win the Premier League ever again but they are managing to compete for a place in the Europa League qualification if they manage to maintain their form. They currently sit in 7th place but are now 7 points behind 6th place Manchester United.  With Watford and Wolves, only two points behind they can not afford to slip up against the teams at the bottom of the table. Their confidence will be high after managing to beat Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton in their last match in the EPL.

Southampton F.C

After losing two on the bounce against West Ham and Manchester City it was vital that Southampton picked up points against Chelsea and they were able to do that by getting a draw at Stamford Bridge. One point was not enough to get them out of the danger zone however as they currently sit third from bottom and in the relegation zone. They are two points from safety with Cardiff, Burnley, and Newcastle all sitting on 18 points. After the Leicester match, they are at home against Everton and Crystal Palace which are games they must get points from if they are going to stay in the EPL next season. If they are unable to improve their form by the end of the month they could be too far behind to be able to make up the difference.

Prediction – Drawn

Leicester have been playing well against the top teams but have dropped points against the lower ranked teams. They are on form however and will expect to beat a Southampton team that is nowhere near the level of previous campaigns. Getting something is vital for the Saints so I can see them setting up to defend which Leicester find hard to break down as they are a much better counter-attacking team so I can see them canceling each other out for a no score draw.
