Southampton Vs. Everton

On Saturday the 19th of January at 15:00 Southampton are at home against Everton in the Premier League.

Southampton has found themselves deep in the relegation battle and only a few wins on the bounce will make the fans start to relax. After been beaten by Manchester City 1-3 on the 30th of December, they have done a lot better in the new year. They have managed a draw against Chelsea and got all three points in their last match by beating Leicester City away 1-2. With Shane Long scoring his first goal in 9 months, hopefully, he can hit some form as they are finding very difficult this campaign to get goals. They are currently in 16th place and only 1 point from Newcastle in 18th so if they do not get the win they could find themselves in the relegation zone after the weekend is out.

Everton F.C

After suffering from defeats against Brighton and Leicester City, Everton was able to get back to winning ways in their last match in the Premier League. They beat Bournemouth 2-0 and now sit in 10th place in the EPL on 30 points. They only need a couple more wins to see them safe which they should do comfortable but the chances of European football next season are slim. If they can, however, beat Southampton and follow that up by beating Huddersfield and Wolves in their next games they will be in with a chance.

Prediction – Everton Win

After getting back to winning ways Everton will have boosted confidence in the game against Southampton. Both teams are finding it difficult to score so I do not see this been a high scoring encounter. I think that the Toffees have more quality and are most likely to score which I why I see them winning 0-1.
